Oracle is deploying AI agents at breakneck speed to keep up with high demand from financial institutions, with the expectation of having 130 agents live by the end of May.
The tech giant launched seven AI agents for the financial services industry on Feb. 3 to streamline FI operations, Sovan Shatpathy, senior vice president of product management and development at Oracle Financial Services, told FinAi News.

The AI agents can perform multiple functions:
- Application tracking;
- Product brochure and development;
- Qualitative analysis, credit decisioning;
- Collector call summarization; and
- Call compliance check.
In one example of agentic AI efficiency, Oracle’s anti-fraud AI agent, launched last year, can help FIs make their fraud and anti-money laundering (AML) processes 70% more efficient, Shatpathy said.
Having 130 agents live, “will cut across multiple lines of banking like commercial, retail and wealth management,” Shatpathy said.
The 2026 agentic launches
The first set of agentic AI capabilities launched by Oracle will be focused on retail banking, Shatpathy said. As this segment is highly business-to-consumer-focused and competitive, Oracle is looking to support its clients in gaining market share while reducing operational costs, he added.
In 2026, Oracle will focus on providing new agentic AI capabilities to for commercial and corporate banking clients, which represent a major apportion of bank revenue, he said.
Some of these agentic capabilities, Shatpathy said, include:
- Cash flow forecasting and analysis;
- Treasury management;
- Corporate lending;
- Trade finance; and
- Supply chain finance.
“The retail pie will be probably like 30% of Oracle’s 130 agents that will be live by May,” Shatpathy said. “FIs can pick and choose what agents they want to deploy and build custom processes or risk tolerance within them.”
While the agentic AI capabilities are rolling out only for FIs on the Oracle Cloud infrastructure, the company aims to eventually expand its offerings to other cloud providers or wherever its banking clients run operations, he said.
Notable Oracle partners include:
- $2.4 trillion Bank of America;
- $3.2 trillion HSBC;
- $2.2 trillion Banco Santander; and
- $1.6 trillion Deutsche Bank.
