PayPal Holdings announced today it has agreed to acquire Cymbio, a multichannel commerce platform, as it moves to expand its agentic commerce capabilities.

Cymbio enables brands to make their product catalogs discoverable across AI-driven surfaces such as Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity, as well as e-commerce channels, according to the release. PayPal previously partnered with Cymbio for its agentic commerce services.

“Acquiring Cymbio’s technology and team will enhance our agentic commerce capabilities and accelerate the expansion to more of our merchants,” said Michelle Gill, executive vice president and general manager of small business and financial services at PayPal.

Cymbio’s technology will power Store Sync, a PayPal service that allows merchants’ product data to appear within AI channels while routing orders directly into existing fulfillment and management systems, according to the release. Merchants remain the merchant of record and retain control over customer relationships and branding.

Retailers including Abercrombie & Fitch, Fabletics, Ashley Furniture, Newegg and Adorama use Store Sync on Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity. PayPal said its agentic commerce services and checkout options are currently available on Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity, with support for OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini expected to follow.

Founded in 2015 and based in Tel Aviv, Cymbio specializes in brand integration and multichannel commerce enablement. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2026, subject to customary conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
