Tech provider Fiserv announced today it is collaborating with Microsoft to accelerate AI-driven innovation by embedding AI more deeply across its technology platforms and workforce, a move aimed at boosting productivity and delivering new capabilities to clients.

The payments and financial services technology company will deploy Microsoft 365 Copilot across its global workforce, giving employees access to generative AI tools designed to enhance efficiency, speed decision-making and improve work quality, according to today’s release. At the same time, Fiserv plans to expand its use of Microsoft Foundry, an Azure-based platform that supports the secure development and deployment of AI applications.

Fiserv said the collaboration is expected to improve internal operations while enabling the delivery of AI-powered products and services for financial institutions, businesses and consumers, according to the release.

“By embedding AI inside our workforce and development platforms, we’re transforming how Fiserv delivers the next generation of innovation for our clients,” Vice Chairman Guy Chiarello said in the release. He added that the collaboration will help the company bring new intelligent capabilities to market more quickly and at greater scale.

Karen Del Vescovo, Microsoft’s corporate vice president for financial services, said in th erelease the collaboration demonstrates how AI can reshape how financial technology is built and delivered.

The expanded relationship builds on Fiserv’s existing use of Microsoft Foundry and GitHub Copilot, according to the release.

Fiserv has processed more than 100 billion tokens using Foundry to enhance products and client services, while GitHub Copilot has been rolled out to more than 8,000 software engineers, improving developer productivity and accelerating delivery.

Fiserv said in the release AI already underpins fraud detection, risk management and personalized engagement across its platforms, and that the deeper integration of generative AI marks a shift toward more advanced, agent-driven intelligence.
