SouthTrust Bank has selected financial technology service provider Jack Henry to upgrade its digital infrastructure.

A Jack Henry spokesperson told Bank Automation News that the $550 million, George West, Texas-based bank will use these digital products:
- Jack Henry Digital Platform for online and mobile banking;
- JHA OpenAnywhere for digital account opening;
- Payments products including JHA PayCenter, Payrailz and instant debit issuance; and
- Back-office tools including jhaEnterprise Workflow and Synergy.
The bank will also move its core to Jack Henry, the spokesperson said, adding that its digital banking platform will be rolled out for retail and commercial clients.
Banks must be thorough in planning to ensure a smooth and efficient onboarding process for new solutions, the spokesperson said.
“Typically, the process from selection to the go-live date can take a year or more depending on the bank,” the spokesperson said. “The more planning and effort invested, the smoother the process and the more successful the relationship will be.”
The spokesperson declined to provide the value of the deal.
Clearwater CU chooses Alkami
Clearwater Credit Union has selected Alkami for its digital banking platform to boost data-driven personalization.
The Missoula, Mont.-based credit union went live with Alkami’s digital banking platform on March 19, Mazen Letayf, vice president for customer lifecycle management and data solutions at Alkami, told BAN.
The credit union is also using Alkami’s data and marketing solutions for:
- Personalized engagement;
- Marketing conversion;
- Growth;
- Reduction of manual effort; and
- Competitive positioning.
“The insights from the transaction data enables us to understand and walk alongside our members through all their life stages,” Deborah Colby, chief marketing officer at Clearwater, said in a May 16 release.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Caro FCU selects Tyfone nFinia platform
Caro Federal Credit Union has selected fintech Tyfone’s nFinia digital banking platform to upgrade its digital capabilities for retail and business clients.
Credit unions are looking to differentiate from other FIs and offer value to members, Josh DeTar, executive vice president at Tyfone, told BAN.
“The open ecosystem and architecture of Tyfone and the nFinia digital banking platform allows Tyfone customers like Caro to be able to pick the mix of vendors that’s right for them without being forced into a walled garden of preferred partners or native offerings,” DeTar said. “The nFinia API architecture allows third parties to be integrated tightly to the experience quickly with a focus on member experience and the ability to access and share data securely.”
The credit union aims to provide nFinia to its small business clients, DeTar said.
Through nFinia, Columbia, S.C.-based Caro FCU will provide its business banking clients with:
- Dedicated business tools: Features essential for operations like detailed cash flow management, efficient payment processing and granular control over user roles and permissions;
- Real-time funds movement: Tyfone’s IPX solution, enabling FedNow transactions, is valuable for businesses needing instant payment capabilities and improved cash flow management;
- Unified experience: Business members typically use a single login to access both their business and personal accounts, providing convenience and a holistic financial view; and
- Intuitive interface and AI support: Tyfone’s Penni AI concierge further simplifies navigation, allowing business owners to find what they need quickly via search.
Aspen FCU chooses Mahalo
Aspen FCU has tapped fintech Mahalo for digital banking services, including online and mobile banking, according to Mahalo’s May 21 release.
The $135 million, Rapid City, S.D.-based Aspen FCU will launch Mahalo’s platform with the fintech’s Corelation KeyStone core conversion for a seamless transition and better scalability, the release stated.
Troy, Mich.-based Mahalo’s Thoughtful Digital Banking Solution will provide online and mobile banking to retail and commercial banking clients, the release stated. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Police Federal Credit Union, Xcel Federal Credit Union and Sno Falls FCU are some of Mahalo’s customers.
