NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Bank Automation Summit 2025 kicks off today in Nashville, Tenn., where industry leaders will discuss AI in the financial services industry and what’s in store for future technology.

As financial services become ever more tech-driven, financial institutions are investing heavily in modernizing their operations and offerings. This week’s event will spotlight industry innovations and challenges as leaders discuss the financial and efficiency returns generated by AI investment.
Event sessions will investigate how banks are driving internal efficiencies, the future of financial institutions in the wake of the implementation of open banking regulation, and how fintechs are adapting to a new macroeconomic reality.
Bank Automation Summit 2025 will feature a fireside chat with Koren Picariello, managing director and head of generative AI strategy and execution at Morgan Stanley, for a discussion on crucial technology and automation trends, developments and investments.
Other speakers include:
- Hemal Nagarsheth, head of strategy banking, lending and trust at Wells Fargo Wealth and Investment Management;
- Matthew McCown, executive director of the data and analytics team at J.P. Morgan Payments; and
- Sabrina Tharani, senior vice president of global fintech programs at Mastercard.
Returning this year on Day 1 of the event is the “AI in action” demo challenge, featuring demonstrations of new technologies and solutions, from AI chatbots to biometric solutions and more, from a curated group of 13 fintech startups all competing for a chance to win.
During the two-day event, speakers will take on the following topics and more:
- Technical challenges for ensuring AI-generated insights are accurate and compliant;
- Fine-tuning language models for specific applications like wealth management and lending;
- Generating a return on investment in new technology such as gen AI; and
- How the new tech landscape is pushing the boundaries of digital assistants.
