Card and financial app Curve has secured a $1 billion USD credit line from Swiss bank Credit Suisse, the company announced Tuesday.

London-based Curve, founded in 2015, plans to use the funding to expand its Curve Flex product, which consolidates cards and accounts into one app, in Europe and the U.S., according to a release.

“We have launched and very successfully tested our unique Curve Flex product and are delighted to be able to scale our lending capabilities with this new financing,” Paul Harrald, chief information officer at Curve, said in the release.

The company has raised a total of $1.2 billion over seven funding rounds, according to Crunchbase.

Avant secures $250M

Neobank Avant announced Wednesday that it has received $250 million of corporate debt and redeemable preferred equity from Ares Management Alternative Credit.

The funding will expand Avant’s capabilities in the digital banking space, Chief Executive Matt Bochenek said in a release. “This capital infusion from Ares will further fuel our credit portfolio and next-gen platform, enabling stronger competitive advantage,” he said.

Chicago-based Avant has raised $2.1 billion over 13 funding rounds, according to Crunchbase.

The company’s credit card became the official card of Major League Soccer in August.

The London-based bank plans on expanding its lending, savings and investment offerings to SMEs, having raised $321 million in total funding over six funding rounds.

“This funding round will enable us to support far more of Britain’s established and growth companies, who have been underserved for too long,” Richard Davies, chief executive at Allica Bank, said in the release.

The bank’s profitability began in June after reaching $1.2 billion in lending, according to the release.

Tapline emerges from stealth with $33M

Digital finance platform Tapline announced Thursday that it has secured pre-seed funding of $33 million USD in equity and debt after its fourth funding round.

Tapline plans to use the capital to augment its platform that allows for quick onboarding and provides clients with a tech-enabled credit score and financial dashboard to monitor business metrics, according to a release.

“We listened to the fundraising pain points in the market, and it was clear that an alternative financing solution that is transparent, easy to understand and offers competitive prices with no hidden costs was required,” Dean Hastie, chief executive of Tapline, said in the release.

The Berlin-based platform recently raised $1.7 million in an equity round led by venture capital firm V-Sharp Venture Studio, among others.

Buckzy raises $14.5M in series A

Ontario, Canada-based Buckzy recently announced it has secured $14.5 million in series A funding to assist its real-time money-movement capabilities.

The platform enables real-time, cross-border payments to more than 80 countries and banking-as-a-service capabilities through its embedded finance platform, according to a release.

“We’re on a mission to build the plumbing for real-time money movement globally, the same way high-speed internet fundamentally shifted the communications industry,” Abdul Naushad, chief executive at Buckzy, said in the release.

Founded in 2020, the company has raised a total of $23.5 million over four funding rounds, according to Crunchbase.
