Financial institutions continued to invest in technology in the third quarter as mobile usership climbed and client preferences migrated further toward digital offerings.

The shift to mobile banking has banks looking to tech providers — including Jack Henry’s Banno cloud-based digital banking platform, which enables online and mobile banking capabilities, and can be directly integrated to a bank, according to Jack Henry’s website.

In October, four Florida-based banks and one New Jersey-based bank renewed their licenses with the tech provider, according to an FI Navigator report provided to Bank Automation News:

  • $960 million Wauchula State Bank based in Wauchula, Fla.;
  • $646 Charlotte State Bank and Trust based in Port Charlotte, Fla.;
  • $567 Englewood Bank and Trust based in Englewood, Fla.;
  • $210 million Crews Bank and Trust based in Arcadia, Fla.; and
  • $382 million Brunswick Bank and Trust based in New Brunswick, N.J.

The banks join $311 million Fort Worth City Credit Union, $362 million Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union and $412 million Altana Federal Credit Union which selected the mobile banking platform in July.

Meanwhile, Jack Henry also launched a real-time payment solution earlier this month and continues to invest in its API portal and automation solutions.
