PayPal’s developer community web site will soon be showing off its new makeover, Bank Innovation has learned. The site, X.com, will relaunch with its new look on August 29th.

The attention on the site underscores the import PayPal places on its developers opening the innovation development commerce floodgates.

X.com will “now be easier to navigate, have more tools, and improved documentation — all so you can find what you need quickly and easily,” reads an email from PayPal to its developer community.

Within the body of that same email was a juicier tease reminding developers to X.commerce, an emerging commerce platform backed by PayPal, eBay and Magento, and whose growth will strongly depend on open sourcers. Developers will “play an important role in redefining the marketplace through X.commerce,” reads the PayPal email.

More details on X.commerce are expected to hit once the site relaunches. The platform’s formal unveiling, however, will happen on October 12th and 13th at the X.commerce Innovate Developers Conference in San Francisco.
