Photo: NeamovSquare introduced its Square Cash peer-to-peer payments application to great fanfare last October.

The app does not appear to be picking up momentum since, however, even when compared only to other financial services apps.

The Square Cash iOS app has been slowly falling in the ranking of top finance apps, according to Appfigures data. When Square Cash was launched, it debuted at No. 10 on the list of top finance apps in the United States. As of today, the app is sitting at No. 59. It has also fallen completely out of the Top 400 overall iOS apps after peaking at No. 55 the day after its launch.

Meanwhile, PayPal, Square Cash’s key competitor, has maintained its ranking among finance apps and overall, sitting at No. 6 and No. 230, respectively.

The Android version of Square Cash has been downloaded 10,000 to 50,000 times on Google Play.
