Breadcrumb, the Square-like credit card reader from Groupon, released a video touting its new point-of-sale system on June 29.

What, you’ve never heard of Breadcrumb? Groupon launched its credit card reader launched nine months ago, but it has been, well, a bit under the radar since, too. It seems that Groupon counted on tie-ins to its deals to help differentiate the reader, but media coverage has been sparse so far.

Breadcrumb’s pricing model is slightly different than its more famous competitor, at 1.8% plus $0.15 per swipe.

The point-of-sale package includes a stand for a tablet and optional cash register and receipt-printing components, but the basic free offering is the mobile app along with a card reader or dongle.
