EXCLUSIVE- TD Bank today has partnered with cloud banking platform nCino, to integrate its corporate and commercial lending divisions with nCino’s Bank Operating System.

The partnership allow TD Bank to digitalize the entire consumer lending process from start to finish. Check out how nCino works here.

For nCino, TD Bank is its largest bank partner.

The platform is currently live for TD Bank users in its TD Equipment Finance division, and will gradually be made live across its other corporate, commercial and business banking departments.

With digital lending (commercial and retail) on the rise, thanks to major players like Goldman Sach’s Marcus on the consumer side, Intuit QuickBooks’ QuickBooks Capital platform on the commercial side, automation and user-friendliness have become key for getting more customers. TD’s partnership with nCino does just that for the Toronto-based bank.

Right now, the bank has over 9 million customers, according to its website, out of which 6.5 million are on TD’s mobile app.

This partnership is part of the bank’s digital growth, a central focus for the bank in 2018, according to remarks by the bank’s CEO Bharat Masrani’s in its Q1’18 earnings earlier this month.

As a result, the bank will continue to invest in technology, form partnerships like today’s announcement with nCino, as well as pursue M&A as it did with AI-focused fintech Layer 6 for an undisclosed amount in January 2018.

Founded in 2012, nCino’s “bank operating system” is built on Salesforce.com. It combines customer relationship management (CRM), loan origination, account opening, workflow, content management, business process management, customer engagement and instant reporting on a single online platform.

TD Bank currently has $308 billion in assets as of January 1.
